Rafinha celebrates victory and first encounter with Genoa´s fans
In its first major test in pre-season, Genoa beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0, in a match held this Friday at the Luigi Ferraris stadium, in Italy. The victory assured the Spagnolo Trophy, friendly pre-season tournament. Striker Luca Toni scored the only goal of the game. The right back Rafinha celebrated the first real contact with the fans of his new club.
"It was a great experience. All other players who were also playing their first game really enjoyed that contact with the fans too. Although it was only a friendly match, all came into the field ready to show their best," said Rafinha, who hopes the team will have a good performance this season.
"This victory shows that Genoa´s preparation has been positive. For all I´ve seen so far, I think that Genoa is able to surprise the big teams in Italy".
